The Golf Academy
St Mellion International Resort, as well as having two superb golf courses, has excellent practice and coaching facilities. The range measures over 280-yards and has 5 raised target greens; you play from a new 45-metre artificial turf strip installed by Huxley, which plays just like you were off grass. Close to the 1st tees there are two further greens one of which is a short game area that has 3 target flags and practice bunkers. The other is a large chipping & putting green built to the same spec as the golf courses.
Why is the St Mellion Golf Academy different? We recognise the image of golf needs to change. It is great that over 15 million people watch The Open and The Masters on television and we know that there are 4 million active golfers, so the question is where are the missing 11 million golfers?
There are many perceived barriers to golf: it’s too expensive, people don’t feel they’ll fit in; it’s not accessible for ladies, families or minority groups… The over-riding aim of St Mellion Golf Academy is to increase golf participation. Our engaging, friendly and experienced coaches together with an exciting range of programmes will guarantee your success and in doing so change both the image of golf and the number of people who play this great game.
