There is a wonderful kinship enjoyed among golfers the world over. We share not only a love for the game itself, but a reverence for its history and a commitment to its preservation. Thus, it gives me special pleasure to offer my best wishes and congratulations to St Mellion as you celebrate your 20th anniversary.
We have always been very proud of what we were able to create at St Mellion. Hole for hole, it is a great golf course and has always been a good, strong test of golf. When we first walked the property, I imagine very few thought this venue would one-day host a significant European Tour event, drawing such greats as Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer and Jose Maria Olazabal, but you did. To St Mellion’s credit, you have worked hard to quickly establish a tournament tradition, enhancing your reputation. I know we at Nicklaus Design are proud of your achievements.
I am sure this anniversary will be a memorable time of celebration and good golfing. As you salute the past and plan for the future at St Mellion. I wish you all the best for continued good golfing.
